The multidisciplinary artwork "Er På Vej" (Am on the way) has been installed, in a collaboration between artists Astrid Gjesing, Mie Jakobsen, Andrea Momme and Christoffer Bukh together with a reception pupils at Læssøesgade School.
For a some time, it's been a big wish from citizens and local councils, to do something about the tunnel, to make it nicer to travel through. The sentence "Er På Vej" is physically manifested through two green-coloured neonsigns, placed in the entrance / exits. The signs call visitors to the tunnel, who are in a way embraced by the base lighting in the tunnel ceilling.
The lighting and painted surfaces join, in movements of colour in between the old grafitti, which has been largely preserved and incorporated into something new, that moves towards a brighter existence for the tunnel and the surrounding areas." By projectmanager Thomas Mee, ”Lys På Aarhus”.
